Ex-street fighter cum littérateur Kevin O’Rourke will receive the KPV Kerouac Award from the Peace Maker Foundation, a non-profit organization to stop violence in schools. Besides the demon-slayer himself, the ceremony will feature free entertainment and “do-it-yourself pizza.”

Long has published another work of literary fiction, this time in Women in REDzine, a multicultural literature and art magazine at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Her story, “Shadows of Hope,” is an exquisitely nuanced story of a love child and mother meeting destiny in a world of chance and choice.

She’s been invited to read her work at REDzine’s campus-wide release party on December 10th.

Cynthia has amassed an impressive bibliography so far this year with five and a half months to go. Let’s give her another round of applause..
